Hannah & Matthew - A Small Waikiki Elopement near Diamond Head

Wedding portraits at Diamond Head near Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii - Hannah & Matthew’s small, personal elopement

Hannah & Matthew planned their elopement to Hawaii so that their families could meet for the first time ever (Hannah also hadn’t seen her family in two years). She’s from England and he’s from Australia, so Hawaii was the perfect location for everyone to come together, meet, and enjoy some extended time on the island. Hannah & Matthew handled everything so graciously when planning their small elopement at the Hilton in Waikiki - because of the wind, they had to move their ceremony location from the garden gazebo to Altitude 37 in the Hilton, Renee and I had just welcomed our baby girl Seea into the world just 19 hrs earlier so we had our friend Trevor tag along in Renee’s place, and on the wedding day, Hannah may or may not have ran into the super clear sliding glass door in her hotel room (see below). She laughed it off graciously as her niece was screaming her head off about putting her flower girl dress on.

This was truly an amazing day; a simple, small but intentional wedding surrounded by the people they love most meeting for the first time in a new location which will now hold so many memories for all of them. Some of the best moments from H&M’s wedding in Honolulu was the way her dad looked at her & teared up when he first saw her in her wedding dress, Matt’s parent’s getting emotional during the entire ceremony, their symbolic - but windy - butterfly release, Hannah’s run in with the sliding door, their gorgeous portraits at Diamond Head, their emotional and intentional wedding vows that had the whole room in tears, and a unique photo-bomber while walking to the pier in Waikiki. Hannah & Matthew - thanks for your grace and allowing us to tell the story of your wedding day!
